The ALTA Foundation is a private foundation operating exclusively in the State of Washington. Our purpose is to increase the educational opportunities, and support the educational enrichment, of children with special needs. To achieve this goal, we provide funding to Washington schools and educational institutions, both public and private, so that they may obtain the equipment, employees, facilities, services and information they need to provide excellence in education to children with a wide range of physical, mental and emotional challenges.
Except for minimal administrative costs, every dollar donated to the foundation goes towards aiding schools and other educational institutions better serve the children we seek to help. The ALTA Foundation has no paid employees and its five member board, which is comprised of a teacher, a physical therapist, a psychotherapist, an attorney and an actuary, work on a volunteer basis. As a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, most donations to the ALTA foundation are tax deductible as charitable contributions.
The ALTA Foundation supports no particular political party or agenda, and it participates in no legislative or political lobbying. Our sole mission is to make equal opportunity and universal access to education a reality in the communities we serve.
